About This Blog/Contact

You already know my name, you know that I love horror and you know my goal. So there's no need to repeat all that. Instead, let me tell you how I got to where I am today. My parents weren't afraid to let me watch scary movies as a child. They loved them, so they introduced me to them. The first movie I ever saw (or at least remember seeing) was Friday the 13th: Jason Goes to Hell. It was 1994, and I was four years old. My parents took me to the theater to see it and, if you ask my dad, I laughed through the entire movie. As I grew older and began to fully understand what was happening, I became terrified of those same movies. My biggest fear was Jason Voorhees. As I grew older still and began to realize that it wasn't real, I grew to love those same movies. My greatest love was Jason Voorhees. I still love him today, and I have him to thank for introducing me to the greatest genre of movies in the world. Now I've seen a lot of horror movies in my 22 years, but good 'ol Friday the 13th remains my favorite. It is stuck in my head, in my heart, and in everything that I am. So, if you really want to know how I became such a horror fan...well, the same way you did. I grew up on it. Jason was my babysitter. Just saying his name, or uttering the ever dreadful "ki-ki-ki ma-ma-ma" was the best way to get me to behave. Horror has been with me my entire life, it will never leave me, and it will remain embedded in my soul until I'm dead and buried.

I love the term goregasm. It is an intense sensation (possibly sexual, but not always) felt when seeing something extremely bloody. I am a gore whore, and I absolutely crave goregasms. Though I am an avid horror fan, I don't claim to know everything. So, if you know of a wonderfully gory movie, please let me know! Leave a comment, e-mail me, I don't care. Just get those suggestions flowing, people!

Okay, a little about the blog:

  • You already know about my goal. I don't have any deadline or anything like that, or any certain time that I plan to stop. Hell, I don't plan to stop at all. I just try to watch at least one horror movie every day--sometimes more. I'm no professional here, either. My reviews won't be snazzy or filled with film-making knowledge (because I have none). My reviews will consist of two things: 1) What the movie was about, and 2) Why I liked it/didn't like it. I hope to give you a little peek of what the movie is like, so that you can decide whether or not you'd like to check it out yourself. I don't know anything about cameras, or the people that made the movie (in most cases, but not all); all I know is what I like.
  • I'd like to participate in challenges. But since I'm kind of out of the loop in the blogging world, I have no idea where to find any. So, I just do my own. If you'd like to participate (and I hope you will!) just let me know so that I can check it out and be sure to link you on my blog.
  • Check out my "Surviving the Horror" page. It's one of those "things you should never do in a horror movie" type of things. Tips on--what else--surviving horror. I've come up with a good bit myself, but I'd really like for it to be interactive. So, please, feel free to add to it! Send in your contribution in a comment, and I will add it to the post. You'll get credit for your creativity, of course.

I want to say thank you for your time, and I really hope you enjoy my little slice of the web. Follow me, talk to me, let's have some goregasms. And, more importantly, don't ever stop watching horror movies. It is the fans, after all, that make the genre what it is today.
